National Museum of Theatre and Dance
The National Museum of Theatre and Dance in Lisbon features an exhibition of 260,000 pieces related to both art forms, dating from the 18th century to the present day.
Stage models, drawings, caricatures, programs, posters, postcards, manuscripts, masks, records, and an archive of 25,000 photographs.

It was founded in 1985 in the grounds of the Monteiro-Mor Palace, a beautiful 18th-century building with lovely gardens where you can enjoy a pleasant Lisbon afternoon beneath its trees or at the terrace café on site.

The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions related to the world of Portuguese theater and performance.
Gardens of the National Theater Museum
The museum is surrounded by beautiful gardens where you can stroll beneath the trees. It makes for a very pleasant Sunday visit.
The same gardens are also home to the National Costume Museum. So you can visit both on the same day.
