Lisbon with Kids
The most entertaining activities for young and old alike in Lisbon.
These are the most popular spots for the "meninos" and "meninas" (boys and girls) who visit Lisbon with their parents 🙂
Get ready to make the most of your family trip with our top tips:
Whether you're visiting in winter or summer, wear comfortable clothes and shoes, because with the exception of the Parque das Nações (where you'll find the Oceanário and several other great spots to visit with kids – more on those below), Lisbon is an ancient city with steep hills, narrow streets, and cobblestone pavements. With that in mind, if you're traveling with a baby, a carrier will be more practical than a stroller.
On the other hand, people are very friendly – in cafés, restaurants, and on the street alike – so don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it; someone will almost certainly be happy to assist.
We've also put together a few Portuguese words that may come in handy for parents with babies:
Fraldas = Diapers
Leite = Milk
Chucha = Pacifier
Criança = Child (boy or girl)
Muda Fraldas = Baby changing facilities
Casa de banho = Restrooms
Highchair = high chair or car seat
Farmácia and Hospital are pronounced the same.
We hope you never need it, but if you do, the emergency number is: 112.
