Feira da Ladra, the Thieves' Market
The "Feira da Ladra", which roughly translates as "thieves' market," is a flea market in the best European tradition. Like the famous Portobello Market in London or the Marché aux Puces in Paris, this market offers a wide range of interesting items ranging from antique cameras dating back at least half a century to used furniture, kitsch lamps, kitsch, vinyl record collections, and native Portuguese music, among many other things.

Authentic market atmosphere: characters and people
Other finds include vintage posters from past eras of Portuguese history. The Feira da Ladra is a must-stop for anyone looking to experience the most authentic side of the city.
When is the Feira da Ladra held?
The Feira da Ladra takes place every Tuesday and Saturday from early in the morning. In good weather, it is very likely that the market will run until well into 4 p.m. It is held around the National Pantheon of Santa Engrácia, in Alfama, one of the most interesting neighborhoods in Lisbon.
Nearby, we recommend visiting Parque Clara Clara, also known (and as you will see on the map) as Jardim Botto Machado. And the Culinary Arts Center located at the park entrance, where you can buy organic or gourmet Portuguese products.

Campo de Santa Clara
