Botequim
Tapas and poetry in the Graça neighborhood
Botequim
A cozy bar with a pleasant atmosphere, varied and affordable tapas, and friendly service.
Located on the Largo da Graça, it was in past decades a gathering place where great moments of the country's culture and politics unfolded. It was first opened in 1968 by the Portuguese poet Natalia Correia, together with partners such as Isabel Meyrelles, also recognized for her contributions to Portuguese literature.

Today the venue aims to be a meeting point for literature, storytelling, and poetry, and to serve as a showcase for different art forms, including small concerts featuring musicians from a variety of genres.
In short, Botequim is a place to experience the best of Portuguese music and literature in Lisbon, honoring one of the slogans of the April Revolution: "Poetry is in the streets."
The venue brings together people of all ages — many Erasmus students, as well as the Portuguese regulars who keep coming back to catch the concerts and take part in the poetry.
